When is a tax attorney’s advice helpful?

Video Transcription

A tax attorney’s advice is helpful at many stages of life and in many events. Of course, if you get a notice from the IRS or State Department of Revenue, you’ll obviously need to speak to a tax attorney then, but business formation, going into business for yourself, you’ll definitely need to speak with a tax attorney at that point. Any kind of business transaction, bringing in a new partner, a business sale, acquisition, merger, anything like that will require the advice of a tax attorney. Even basic estate planning will have tax consequences. Anytime, doing a will or a trust, gifting property away, asset protection, those are the times when you’ll need to talk to a tax attorney as well.
